Quotes for Artists
Here are some words that inspire us to keep pressing on, along this path called making art!
“Hold fast to dreams,
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird,
That cannot fly.”
― Langston Hughes
Clay Art in Kohala
We have a lovely community clay studio in the Gym at Kam Park.
Since the renovations following the ’06 quake, Malia has been working to establish a hui of clay enthusiasts. We are accepting members at this time. If you would like more info, please call(987-3902) and leave a message.
Children’s classes are occasionally offered- check the Learning Center class listing for current offerings.
Texture & Color: Malia Welch
With training in a wide spectrum of media, Malia’s work takes different forms: textiles, metals, ceramics, photography, and graphic design. But given the chance, she’d rather be dancing!
Glass & Light: Gale Scudder
A couple of examples showing the luminous quality of Gale Scudders exquisite stained glass pieces. Stop by the gallery to see her work. Custom orders for architecture installations as well as stand-alone Art pieces available.
10/6 Country Fair Booth
Stop by our booth at the Kohala Country Fair, coming Saturday, October 6th. We will have pieces for sale at the “Made in Kohala” tent as well. Don’t miss this annual event where stellar musicians show their talents, and luas get all gussied up for the juried port-a-potty contest.
COLLAGE SHOW- summer 2012
A community show highlighting the work of over 30 individuals, this was an exciting foray into the world of collage. From self-portaiture to sculpture, we saw a broad spectrum of interpretations. Looking forward to the next open show in the fall…
